Believe it or not, microwaving popcorn is a lot easier than you think. All you need to do is to put regular popping corn in a paper lunch bag before putting the bag into your microwave. This technique has been proven to work perfectly. Try it out today!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 half cup unpopped popcorn
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt (preferably popcorn salt → it is finer)

Directions

Put the corn kernels in a small bowl and mix in the oil. Make sure the oil is evenly distributed. Then pack the mixture in a paper bag and sprinkle in the salt. Shake well so everything can mix. Fold the bag once to make sure the popcorn will stay inside the bag and the steam can escape.

Now place the paper bag in the microwave and heat on maximum power for about 2.5 – 3 minutes. It’s done when you don’t hear any more popping for about 3 seconds. Now you can take out the bag and carefully open it. Be careful not to let the hot steam hit your face.

Pro tip: Keep your corn kernels in the freezer to get better popping results.
