Quick up-front questions

Can I use frozen fruits?

No. They will get mushy, once they have thawed.

Can I prepare the salad ahead of time?

Yes, you can but keep the fruit salad dressing separated and add it right before you eat.

Ingredients

For the Fruit Salad Dressing
  • 2 oz. (60g) of honey
  • 2 oz. (60g) orange juice (squeeze it yourself, for best results)
  • zest of 1 lemon
For the salad
  • 1 mango
  • 2 apples (peeled or unpeeled for an extra vitamin boost)
  • 1 orange
  • 2 kiwis
  • 1 lb. (450g) strawberries
  • 6 oz. (170g) raspberries
  • 6 oz. (170g) blueberries
  • 12 oz. (340g) grapes

Directions

Cut the lemon zest in very small cubes and mix them together with the honey and the orange juice using a small bowl. Then cut all fruits into pieces sized as you like and mix them together in a large bowl. Now pour the dressing into the fruits and mix again until the dressing is evenly spread.

Tips

Feel free to vary the fruits you use. You can add banana, pineapple or other fruits as you like. Just make sure the fruits you use are ripe. You can also add some yogurt or low fat quark to make it taste even better!
